Background-
UK preventative health startup Stride has raised £4.6 million in seed funding to develop its diagnostics-driven health platform and expand internationally.
Investors in the round include Arāya Ventures, Morgan Stanley Inclusive and Sustainable Ventures, Better Ventures, Innovate UK and an a16z Scout Fund investor, alongside a group of angel investors.
Andrew Steele, an Olympic medallist and DNAfit co-founder, launched Stride in May 2024. Its membership combines DNA, blood and gut health testing with personalized insights, helping people understand their health data, track changes over time and make informed choices.
Steele said better health can become exciting, aspirational and engaging, and that deeper analysis can give people useful insights earlier in life.
Stride encourages a shift toward spotting risks early and acting on them sooner. The company also sees preventative care as a way to ease pressure on health systems such as the NHS.
Innovate UK has backed two Stride research projects. One develops a multiomic approach to measuring biological age, while the other builds an AI-powered health copilot that combines lab results, wearable data and health records into personalized guidance.
Stride is also growing in premium wellness and longevity through partnerships with Triple Bond at The BoTree Hotel and LongLane, an alcohol-free biohacking destination. Both use Stride’s diagnostic testing to tailor member experiences.
The funding will support a predictive, personalized health platform. Stride plans to launch its Stride One membership outside the UK before the end of 2026.
