Background-
Huawei has launched the Nanfang Hospital Global Showcase and the Healthcare AI Copilot (HAIC) Solution to bring AI into hospitals on a large scale, and it unveiled both at a Healthcare Summit during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai last week.
The summit ran under the theme “Agentic-led Healthcare Transformation, Partnering for Innovative Best Practice.” Huawei and Nanfang Hospital executives jointly launched the showcase, which aims to set a global benchmark and serve as a model for intelligent healthcare.
The showcase runs on the Hospital AI Platform, which combines computing power, data and model resources. Its Nanfang Hospital Agent Platform focuses on healthcare, education, research and management, and it already supports several AI applications.
Junfeng Li, Huawei vice president and CEO of its Global Public Sector BU, said intelligent healthcare needs more than stacked technologies. He said it requires a closed loop of technology, scenario and ecosystem.
Huawei also launched the HAIC Solution to the global market. Hospitals across China already use it, working with partners such as Runda Medical and Huimei Technology. It covers pathology, imaging and general practitioner assistants, and it turns the expertise of top hospitals into tools that primary care doctors can use.
Speakers from West China Hospital and Renji Hospital described better diagnosis and patient services through AI. Farmacéutica Medikamenta said it connected 4,200 rural Mexican clinics with Huawei in four months. William Zhang, president of Huawei Healthcare BU, said the tools help doctors rather than replace them.
