HCA Healthcare has expanded its urgent care network by adding 40 centres in Texas, taking its nationwide total to more than 430 locations. The centres were previously operated by Texas MedClinic under Community Care Partners and are being rebranded as CareNow. The company did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition.
As part of the expansion, 18 centres have been integrated into Methodist Healthcare, increasing its network in South Texas to 35 locations. Another 14 centres have joined St. David’s HealthCare, raising its CareNow urgent care network in Central Texas from 25 to 39 locations. The remaining eight centres in Houston have become the first in the state to operate under the HCA CareNow brand.
Methodist Healthcare President and CEO Dan Miller said the move builds on Texas MedClinic’s long-standing presence in San Antonio while creating a more connected healthcare experience. He added that the expansion would improve access to care for local communities.
St. David’s HealthCare President and CEO David Huffstutler said the acquisition would expand access to convenient, high-quality urgent care in fast-growing communities. He noted that the new centres would connect more patients to the health system’s services across Central Texas.
HCA Healthcare said the acquisition supports its strategy of expanding access to care in key growth markets. Company executives also said the branding of the Houston centres reflects efforts to strengthen its connected healthcare network under the HCA Healthcare name.
