Background-
Two Scottish brothers-in-law have started a new online healthcare service called Talo, with the goal of making private medical treatment quicker and easier to access across the UK.
Entrepreneur Gavin Bell and pharmacist David Massie launched the Glasgow-based platform, which centres on discreet next-day delivery of treatments. The service currently covers erectile dysfunction care, with plans to branch out into other health areas down the line.
Talo runs through an online assessment that takes under five minutes to complete. Patients fill in a set of health questions, which a qualified pharmacist reviews the same day. If the patient is considered suitable, a treatment plan is approved and medication is sent out through regulated UK pharmacy supply chains.
The platform has teamed up with the Eastwood Pharmacy group, which handles clinical checks and dispensing. This setup keeps all treatments in line with UK pharmacy standards and safety requirements.
Massie, who oversees clinical operations at Talo and also runs several community pharmacies in Scotland, said long GP waiting times are pushing more people toward faster private healthcare options. He added that the platform gives men a way to get treatment privately and without unnecessary hassle.
Bell, who previously built and sold a marketing agency, said the healthcare experience has fallen behind the convenience people now expect from digital services. He said Talo is designed to cut out the traditional steps of visiting a GP, getting a prescription, and picking up medication by bringing the whole process online.
The company has its eye on expanding into hair loss treatment, hormone therapy, weight management, and at-home health testing, with the longer-term aim of building out a broader digital healthcare platform.
