Background
InterSystems partnered with Bupa CareConnect, the healthcare branch of Bupa Arabia for Cooperative Insurance, to roll out the InterSystems TrakCare health information system across Bupa CareConnect’s network in Saudi Arabia. This system will run Bupa CareConnect’s virtual clinic, home healthcare services, and new physical clinics.
This move strengthens Bupa CareConnect’s digital health strategy, which focuses on providing smooth care in clinics, at home, and online. By using TrakCare, the organization will modernize clinical and administrative workflows and follow Saudi healthcare rules. The cloud-enabled system will also allow Bupa CareConnect to scale its services as demand grows.
Once rolled out, the system will give members faster and safer access to care, from booking appointments to follow-up services. It is expected to improve care coordination and ensure a consistent patient experience across all service channels.
Dr. Abdullah Khafagy, Executive Director of Medical at Bupa CareConnect, said the partnership marks a key step toward creating a fully connected digital care experience. He added that TrakCare will help improve quality, efficiency, and access across virtual, home, and physical care services.
InterSystems said TrakCare will help unify data across systems and support advanced analytics and future AI-driven capabilities. Ali Abi Raad, Managing Director for the Middle East, India, and South Africa at InterSystems, said the platform will enable Bupa CareConnect to scale new models of care and improve health outcomes across the Kingdom.
InterSystems also highlighted its early compliance with Saudi Arabia’s NPHIES platform, which supports the national goal of improving healthcare quality and efficiency under Vision 2030.
