Background-

Baywater Healthcare has acquired Medical Gas Solutions (MGS), a UK medical gases supplier, to secure its oxygen cylinder-filling operations and keep supplies steady for patients across the country.

MGS provides a blend of nitrous oxide and oxygen to public healthcare bodies and private customers. It already fills oxygen cylinders for Baywater, the home-based respiratory care provider.

The deal supports Baywater’s long-term plans for cylinder filling. The company said it strengthens operational resilience and helps ensure continuity of supply for customers and patients.

CEO Adam Sullivan said adding MGS strengthens Baywater’s ability to deliver for patients and creates room for growth and innovation.

MGS will keep operating as a separate business from its current sites. Customers will see no change to their day-to-day contacts or operating arrangements once the transaction completes.

Baywater belongs to Sapio Group, an international healthcare and industrial gases company with annual revenues of about €1 billion ($1.1 billion). It is the UK’s largest provider of NHS Home Oxygen Services and holds the home oxygen contract for Wales and the West Midlands.

The service supplies medical-grade oxygen to people with COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, severe asthma, heart failure and cystic fibrosis. Baywater delivers about 1.3 million cylinders a year, roughly 1.6 billion liters of oxygen. The company did not disclose financial terms.
